European Biography Training – Language: English
After presenting Biography Work internationally for twenty years Living-way … Lebenswege has come full circle and is ready to launch a European Biography Training in Berlin in English. Owing so much to the international work it feels impossible cutting the ties to other countries and cultures, but the amount of travel has to decrease. Depending on the number of enrolments, local and international colleagues will join as contributors during the three-year training program.
After some research and considering a third cycle in the UK it turned out, that from a European perspective Berlin is quite central. Berlin Central Station is a crossing point of trains running from Hamburg to Budapest and Moscow to Paris. Two airports have daily connections with many European cities, and both are linked to the Berlin public transport system. Since the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, the city has become again the multicultural melting pot it used to be at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a place to visit, if not to be. English is Berlin’s second language, and if you need something or got lost, you will always find somebody to help.
The structure of the proposed European Biography Training will follow the format developed in Australia, a blend of distance preparation and face-to-face workshop days. The training consists of four three-day modules per year over three years, starting with an extra Foundation Workshop and accompanied by three annual projects. Participants can join the training annually at an entry point in November after they did a Living-way Foundation Workshop.
